baby steps - getting started

June 1st, 2008

OK, the journey begins. My first step was to sign up on twitter as seospring and follow all the top SEO people in twitterdom.

Step two was to set up this blog and get advice on an SEO friendly theme for wordpress from @doshdosh on twitter who has excellent advice on just about everything and who seems to have mastered the search engines. She’s also a regular at SXSW.

Then I set up an seospring del.icio.us account to keep track of the urls on my journey. I encourage all my twitter seo friends to add seospring to your network so I can add you to my network.

The next step will be to visit as many of the blogs and websites of my twitter seo friends and followers and try to learn a few things from the masters. I’ll be adding the best of these to del.icio.us and to my blogroll here. (I need to export my del.icio.us tags to a blogroll so I’ll have to dig for a plugin that does this).

starting out on an SEO odyssey

June 1st, 2008

Welcome to SEO Spring. This is my first post. I’m on a crash course to learn as much as I can about SEO in the next three weeks so I can at least appear to know what I’m talking about at a big SEO conference in Austin, Texas. I started out by finding a group of friends on twitter who are all in to SEO and followed them all. Hopefully, they’ll follow me back

http://twitter.com/seospring is my twitter page. I already have 7 followers including my other self on twitter (springnet), so, ok, 6 followers. @douglaskarr @BillSlawski @jimkural @davedfly @saadkamal and some guy named @JasonCalacanis

I didn’t add all my friends with an automated script though there was one on Marketing Pilgrim where I found all the SEO gurus.

So twitter friends, let’s get ready to rumble on this seo thing. I’ll help you any way I can if you follow me and promise to follow you back.
